Beautiful hand embroidery designs for beginners. Best for a tablecloth runner, or you can use it as a saree border.
I used DMC thread here. Used DMC color 906 for the green leaves. Stitch used: blanket stitch (A versatile sewing stitch, the blanket stitch strengthens thick fabric edges, joins fabrics, and adds decorative borders. You will often see it in embroidery, quilting, and edge finishing for blankets and felt projects.)
Start: Bring the needle up through the fabric from the back at position 1.
Insert: Take the needle down through position 2, one stitch length to the right of position 1 and slightly below the top edge or guideline.
Bring up and form the stitch: Without changing direction, bring the needle back up at position 3, directly on the edge or guideline and perpendicular to position 2. Before pulling the floss completely through, make sure the thread passes underneath the tip of the needle.
Repeat: Continue working toward the right, following the same spacing and placement for each stitch.
Finish: At the end of the row, secure the thread by making a tiny stitch over the final vertical line.
I used DMC thread here. Same blanket stitch. DMC thread color code 890. You can watch the thread's original image by clicking on the code number.
French knot:
1. Pull the needle up through the fabric from the back.
2. Loop the thread once around the needle.
3. Insert the needle back into the fabric close to the starting point, but not in the same hole.
4. Keep the wrap tight and pull the needle through slowly.
